Ex-teacher jailed over child porn

A former teacher at a top Lancashire public school has been jailed for downloading child pornography.

Christopher Score, 54, from Water Street, Ribchester, Lancashire, was in possession of about 590 indecent images, Preston Crown Court was told.

He pleaded guilty to making an indecent photograph of a child and possessing indecent photographs of children.

Score, who taught at Stonyhurst College, was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

He was also ordered not to undertake any activity likely to bring him into contact with children under 16.

Simon Newell, for his defence, said he had been a competent and well-respected teacher at Stonyhurst, which is based in the Ribble Valley.

Judge Pamela Badley said the case involved disturbing and revolting images and that as an intelligent man, he realised precisely what he was doing.
