Paedophile took photos of teenage boys urinating in public toilets
A depraved man with an obsession for child abuse images took pictures of teenagers urinating in public and then shared them online.
David Parsons, 38, was found in possession of hundreds of indecent images of young children and distributed thousands of images to other paedophiles, including films involving children between six and 12 months old.
The defendant was also found with images he had taken in Cardiff and Bristol of teenage boys urinating in public toilets, including the Cardiff City Stadium.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday also heard that Parsons’ partner James Carlyon was also found with indecent images of children, the youngest being six months old.
Prosecutor Byron Broadstock said: “On April 9, officers from the police online investigation team executed a search warrant at Forest View, Fairwater, the home address of David Parsons and persons at the address including Parsons and Carlyon.
“The reason for their attendance was explained and Parsons said ‘you’re going to find images’.”
Two mobile phones, belonging to each defendant, was seized and a laptop from Carlyon’s home in Quakers Yard, Merthyr Tydfil, was also seized.
On Parsons’ phone, officers found; 87 images and four movies of category A, 83 images and six movies of category B, and 703 images and one movie of category C.
The court heard there were links to storage services and active links containing images and video files, in the defendant’s notes app on his phone.
Mr Broadstock added: “There were conversations between the defendant and others with similar interests in which they discussed which images they possessed and what images they sought.
“The defendant offered to forward images to others.”
The amount distributed by Parsons included; two images and 1,816 movies of category A, eight images and 1,731 movies of category B and 40 images and 396 movies of category C.
During one of the conversations, Parsons was quoted as saying “I have often thought about getting a run away street kid for sex”.
Officers also found eight images taken of teenagers urinating in public toilets without their knowledge. One of these was taken in Bristol on December 6, 2019, and at the Cardiff City Stadium on January 31, this year.
On Carlyon’s mobile phone, police discovered; 51 images and 176 movies of category A, 43 images and 38 movies of category B, 82 images and nine movies of category C, 40 images and one movie of extreme pornography and one image and one movie of prohibited images.
There was also images of clothed teenage boys taken by Carlyon without their knowledge, at a Merthyr Tydfil retail park where the defendant worked. These images were not subject to charges.
Parsons, of Forest View, Fairwater, pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images, distribution of indecent images and voyeurism.
The defendant had a previous conviction from 2011 for possessing indecent images of children.
Carlyon, whose address was also given as Forest View, Fairwater, pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images, extreme pornographic images and prohibited images of children.
Sentencing Parsons, Judge Michael Fitton QC said: “The total picture adds to portraying a man who is not just interested in paedophilic images but an obsession with it and your obsession had led you to taking photographs of other people in public places in the act of urination, and sharing it.
“You are a man who has such a depraved outlook there’s no question of any means of dealing with you other than a custodial sentence.”
Addressing Carlyon, Judge Fitton added: “There are features of your conduct which show a shared interest and common view. The circumstances in which you have been looking together is relevant to how your own thinking and conduct has been degraded.
“If you continue or reestablish a relationship with the defendant and find yourself in court again for similar offences you will be going to prison. If you move on from that relationship and take the opportunity I am giving you, you have the opportunity to move on with your life.”
Parsons was sentenced to three years imprisonment and was made subject to a sexual harm prevention order.
Carlyon was sentenced to eight months imprisonment suspended for two years, and was made subject to a 10 day rehabilitation activity requirement and a 10 year sexual harm prevention order.
Paedophile who tried to meet up with decoy acting as 12-year-old boy caught and jailed
A paedophile who tried to meet up with someone he thought was a 12-year-old boy has been jailed.
Macauley Webb had been messaging an undercover police officer posing as a 12-year-old boy on networking and dating app Grindr and WhatsApp before attempting to meet him.
Cardiff Crown Court heard the 24-year-old had asked the child to become his boyfriend and asked whether he would kiss him.
Joshua Scouller, prosecuting, said that on May 14 this year Webb liked a Grindr profile called ‘Welsh Romeo’ and began messaging the undercover police officer before they exchanged phone numbers and their conversation moved onto WhatsApp.
The court heard that Webb was told “early in the conversation” that the boy was aged 12 and was nearly 13.
Webb asked the boy to become his boyfriend and whether he would kiss him before asking him if they could perform oral sex on each other.
On May 18 Webb attempted to meet the child in the car park of the Morrisons supermarket in Cwmbran where he was arrested by police who seized his mobile phone.
Webb, of Gaer Vale, Newport, admitted to attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming and attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child.
The court heard he has 11 previous convictions for 27 offences including possessing indecent images of children.
Judge Richard Williams told Webb the offending represented a “serious escalation in your paedophilia”.
He said: “I note that this was an attempt and that the child was fictional. While that reduces the harm caused it does not reduce the harm intended. This represents a serious escalation in your paedophilia. You have not been able to address your offending or sexual appetite. You do pose a significant risk of causing serious harm.”
Webb was made the subject of an eight year extended sentence, made up of a four year custodial sentence and an extended licence period of four years.
Newport paedophile admits child sex offences
A now three time convicted paedophile has been remanded in custody after he admitted intending to meet a 12-year-old boy following sexual grooming.
Macauley Webb, 24, of Gaer Vale, Newport, also pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual activity with a child.
The city’s crown court heard how the offences took place last month.
Webb’s sentence was adjourned for the preparation of a report.
The defendant, who appeared via video link from Bridgend’s Parc Prison, was represented by Gareth Williams and the prosecution by Joshua Scouller.
Judge Geraint Walters warned Webb: “A custodial sentence is inevitable.”
His sentence is due to take place on July 1.
In 2016, he was convicted of possession of indecent photos of kids, and he re-offended in 2018 after he was caught and convicted for possessing indecent image of kids
Newport man avoids jail after downloading hundreds of moving images of children
A Newport man has avoided jail after admitting three counts of possessing indecent images of children, two years after receiving a community order for the same offence.
Macauley Webb,22, of Monnow Way, Newport, was already the subject of a three year community order and Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) after being caught with indecent photographs of children in 2016.
Cardiff Crown Court heard he had already committed one “technical breach” of the order since it was imposed.
But despite this, Webb was able to use his mobile phone to download 416 moving images of children to a storage cloud.
Of these, 228 were classed as category A, the most serious, 112 as category B and 76 as category C.
Cardiff Crown Court heard that officers found the defendant had wiped his phone’s history during a check on June 25 this year, and confiscated it.
“The officers were able to see the phone had a cloud account attached,” said prosecutor Timothy Evans.
“They took the phone away and asked the defendant for the password. He gave the incorrect details.”
But, continued Mr Evans, Webb later admitted downloading the images to the cloud to a support worker at his residential home.
When the police returned to the home, Webb was truthful with them and admitted downloading the images.
“He did say that there were family difficulties,” added Mr Evans.
“An older man in the family was encouraging him at that time, he said.”
In sentencing, Judge Neil Bidder QC told Webb he knew that downloading these images was wrong.
“You know why it is so wrong. Because the abuse of these children is terrible, and it perpetuated by people like you who watch this sick images.
“You know because you were convicted in 2016 of possession of indecent photos.
On Wednesday, December 12, Judge Bidder gave Webb an eight month sentence, suspended for two years.
He was made the subject of a SHPO for 10 years and ordered to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activities and 200 hours of unpaid work.
Paedophile found dead weeks after admitting possessing hundreds of child sex abuse photos
A man died shortly after admitting possessing hundreds of pictures of child sexual abuse, a court has heard.
The cause of 49-year-old Vivian Williams’ death is currently being investigated for the coroner.
Williams entered guilty pleas to three counts of possessing a total of 704 images indecent images and one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child when he appeared at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on March 10 this year.
The offences cover the dates January 2016 to October last year and 84 of the images were of Category A which show the most extreme kinds of sexual abuse.
The case was committed to Swansea Crown Court for sentence and the defendant was granted unconditional bail.
This week the case before the higher court where Judge Geraint Walters was told Williams, of Sketty Court, Dillwyn Road, Sketty, Swansea, had died on April 4. The judge therefore stopped the proceedings.
The court heard the cause of the defendant’s death is as yet undetermined.
South Wales Police confirmed officers responded to calls about the welfare of a man on the afternoon of April 4 and that a 49-year-old man was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene in Dillwyn Road.
A spokeswoman added: “There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a report is being compiled for the coroner.”
Paedophile described images of child sex abuse as ‘delightful’ and used lip-licking emoji
A paedophile who shared sickening images of child sexual abuse with like-minded people online described one of the file of films he was sent as “delightful”.
Shaun O’Donovan was caught with almost 750 indecent pictures and movies when police seized his phones and laptop and admitted that he fantasised about having oral sex from very young girls
Some of them showed infants as young as 18 months being sexually abused by men.
Cardiff Crown Court heard the 37-year-old started by looking at “innocent” images on the photo-sharing website Tumblr before moving on to pictures of naked women, and then on to increasingly younger females.
James Evans, prosecuting, said police executed a search warrant at the defendant’s family home in July last year following intelligence about images being uploaded to various online platforms from the address.
Officers seized and searched two iPhones and an Acer laptop from O’Donovan, and on them found a total of 744 images of Categories A – the most serious kind – B and C.
They also found 29 prohibited or pseudo images of children, along with a number of images of extreme adult pornography featuring animals.
The court heard the ages of the females in the indecent images ranged from a baby of around 18 months up to girls aged 11 or 12.
Officers also found evidence O’Donovan had been involved in sharing images online, and they uncovered one message he had sent to a fellow paedophile which read “The file you sent me was delightful” and which was accompanied by an emoji of lips being licked.
The prosecutor said in his police interview the defendant accepted he gained sexual gratification from looking at the images he had downloaded, and accepted he fantasised about having oral sex from young girls.
O’Donovan, of Nant y Dowlais, Ely, Cardiff, had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of making (possessing) indecent images, two counts of distributing indecent images, possessing prohibited images, and possessing extreme pornography when he appeared in the dock for sentencing.
Following the sentencing guidelines and giving the defendant the required one-third discount for his guilty pleas judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke sentenced him to two years and four months in prison.
O’Donovan will serve up to half that period in custody before being released on licence under the UK government’s early release scheme to serve the remainder in the community.
The defendant will be a registered sex offender for the next 10 years, and was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for the same length of time to control his access to the internet.
‘Predatory’ sex offender pretended to be taxi driver to abuse teenager in his car
A “calculated and predatory” sex offender pretended to be a taxi driver to pick up a teenage girl and abuse her in his car.
Ricardas Mikuckis, from Newport, Wales, pounced after spotting his then-18-year-old victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, trying to get a cab home from Cardiff city centre on August 29, 2019.
CCTV footage captured the 33-year-old in his red Ford Kuga in Greyfriars Road shortly before the teenager left a nightclub and tried to flag a taxi down.
Cardiff Crown Court heard how Mikuckis pulled up next to the victim after watching her talk to a taxi driver, who lent her his phone to try and call someone to provide the fare home before she walked off.
Believing him to be a licensed taxi driver, the victim got into the vehicle.
But she became alarmed when they neared Barry but the driver took an unexpected turn off the A4231 Barry Docks Link Road into a secluded lane,
The victim told him he was going the wrong way but Mikuckis stopped the car before calmly getting out, locking the doors, and smoking a cigarette.
He then returned and sexually assaulted the victim, kissing and touching her, before she managed to fight him off and flee the scene.
The visibly distressed woman flagged down a passing car and told the driver she had been attacked.
The alarm was raised and following painstaking trawls of CCTV and using ANPR technology Mikuckis was traced and arrested. A cigarette butt found at the scene also contained his DNA.
Mikuckis denied sexual assault but was found guilty on March 11. He has now been sentenced to 15 months in prison.
