Paedophile creepily admits he ‘needs a connection’ with children

A pervert caught with indecent images admitted he is attracted to children but there has to be a “connection”.

Thomas Daly, 28, was caught for a second time with a string of photographs and videos on his phone and computer.

Worryingly, Daly seemed up front about his attraction to children and, despite undergoing a course, was still viewing sick images and videos.

He appeared at Hull Crown Court on Monday for sentencing having previously admitted three counts of making indecent images of children.

Officers visited Daly’s home in The Mile, Pocklington, and he was arrested. A mobile phone and a game console were seized.

Police found 209 category A images – the most serious kind – 77 category B images and 568 category C images. There was also one category A video and two category C videos discovered.

In interview, when asked why he downloaded such images, Daly said: “I find the images of the girls cute and I wanted to be able to see them again.”

When asked if he has a sexual interest in children he replied: “It depends if there is a connection”.

The court heard that, in September 2020, Humberside Police received information about indecent images of children being downloaded at an East Yorkshire address.

Daly has a similar conviction from 2017 and the community order he received had only just expired when he committed these latest offences. But he was in breach of a sexual harm prevention order.

Daly was jailed for 16 months for possessing the category A material, 12 months for category B and eight months for category C which will all run concurrently.

He will be on the sex offenders’ register for ten years and the sexual harm prevention order will also last ten years.

The quaint village hiding a 26-year-old with sinister search history

A paedophile instantly admitted to searching for porn of “jailbait teens” and “school girls” when police came knocking at his door in the quiet East Riding village of Buckton.

Officers attended the home near Flamborough last year where they asked Daniel Waddington if he had indecent images of children on his devices.

The “relieved” 26-year-old said he did and officers found nearly 20 images and 16 videos of child sex abuse images on his laptop and computer.

Police also found that Waddington, who lived with his mum, had actively searched for “jailbait teens, schoolgirls and young teen porn”.

Despite officers finding explicit images of naked girls aged from ten to 12 years old, Waddington denied that he had a sexual interest in children when he was interviewed.

Waddington, of Pump Lane in Buckton, appeared at Hull Crown Court on Thursday (April 29) after pleading guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.

Informing Waddington of the seriousness of the offences he committed, which can lead to a maximum of ten years imprisonment, Recorder Turner said: “What you have to realise is that these people depicted on the material you got a kick out of watching are damaged by what they are put through.

“That has to stop. It does seem to me that there is some work that can be done with you to assist you and to ensure there is no repeat offending.

“It is just possible to allow you to retain your liberty.”

Waddington was sentenced to a three-year community order and must adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for five years.

Hull paedophile caught with dog sex video

A convicted paedophile was caught with indecent images of children and a video of a woman engaging in sexual acts with a dog as he sat in a meeting with his probation officer.

Joe McKinney, 40, turned up for the meeting on December 17, 2019, where he acted in a “furtive” way with his mobile phone.

The probation officer noticed this and decided to call the police who arrived at the office to seize McKinney’s phone and analyse it.

Officers found a two-minute video on the device of a 16-year-old male and female performing a sexual act as well images of the same girl wearing only her underwear.

A two-minute video showing an adult female performing sexual acts with a dog was also found.

“He was interviewed about these matters and made admissions,” said prosecuting barrister Paul Genney at Hull Crown Court on Thursday (April 29).

McKinney, of Portobello Street in east Hull, was previously convicted for a similar offence back in November 2016.

He was placed on the sex offender register and sentenced to an 18-month community order for three offences of making indecent images of children, one offence of extreme pornography, and for sending indecent images.

Addressing McKinney, Recorder Turner revealed to him that the maximum sentence for possessing images of children is up to ten years in prison.

“That is how serious the courts take this sort of offending,” she said.

“I’m told there has been a slight shift in your thinking in that you now recognise children are victims and people put in positions like this does untold harm and lasting damage that can affect them for a life-time.

“For your own sexual gratification you are willing to look at these images.”

McKinney was sentenced to 12 months in prison suspended for two years and must complete 40 days of rehabilitation activity requirement

He will also continue to be placed on the sex offenders register for a further ten years and must adhere to a sexual harm prevention order for a similar period.

“If you mess up then it’s very likely you will go to prison,” said Recorder Turner.

“It is very likely you will not get another opportunity. You have come within a whisker of going to custody today.”

Rapist returns to Hull after early release from prison

A notorious Hull rapist who attacked a woman as she slept has been released early from prison.

Dean Prendergast, 39, who used to work as a security guard at Kingswood Retail Park, is out on licence and living in north Hull after being jailed in 2016 for raping a woman after a house party.

A four-day trial at Hull Crown Court in 2016 heard how Prendergast had “tried it on” with his victim earlier in the night, but after refusing his advances, she went to sleep.

When she woke, she found Prendergast naked and raping her.

He told her: “I know it’s wrong, but it feels so right.”

During the trial, the victim attended court to read an impact statement.

She told the court: “Any time I got a call from the police or the court to give me an update on the case, it was very upsetting and it would bring it all flooding back.

“All I wanted to do was to move on with my life and put this all behind me, but I couldn’t.

“I wanted to live my life without having to explain to people who weren’t in my close friends or family what I was going through, but I couldn’t.”

Prendergast was jailed for four-and-a-half-years by Judge Mark Bury who told him: “You raped her while she was sleeping and she will no doubt remember that for the rest of her life.”

Following the trial, several of Pendergast’s ex-girlfriends came forward to tell of his “possessive” and “controlling” nature.

One said that during a two-month relationship, Prendergast became controlling and would bang on the door in the early hours demanding to be let in thinking she was with other men.

Another former partner said he dumped her when she took too long to answer a message from him even though she was attending to her young daughter.

Residents on the street where he is now living in north Hull said they were shocked to see him in the neighbourhood.

Prendergast has served half of his four-and-a-half-year sentence in prison, and will now serve the rest on licence in the community. He is also on the sex offenders register for life.

Exposed: Dating website profile of sex monster who raped sleeping woman at house party

A sex monster – who raped a sleeping woman at a party – poses as a cuddly, romantic on his web dating profile.

Pervert Dean Prendergast, 36, was jailed yesterday for four-and-a-half years for forcing himself on the party-goer, who woke to find him naked and raping her.

Prendergast told his horrified victim as she awoke to find him having sex with her: “I know it’s wrong, but it feels so right.”

Today, another woman – who met the security guard on Plenty Of Fish – exposes how Prendergast enjoyed “very rough sex” including hair-pulling and choking.

On his web profile, the rapist says he is a “fun loving man” who is after more than “just fun or one night stands” and likes using sunbeds and nights in with “food, drinks, banter”.

He also says he is “looking to date and to get to know someone”, although not time wasters as he had been “messed around way to many times”.

Prendergast, of Hull, East Yorks, also says “cold nights = cuddles” in chillingly misleading statements on the popular dating website.

During his rape trial at Hull Crown Court, Prendergast said he had drunk 20 bottles of Stella Artois lager and “some” Amaretto on the night of the crime.

Jailing Prendergast, Judge Mark Bury said: “You raped her while she was sleeping and she will no doubt remember that for the rest of her life.”

After he was convicted, other women have came forward to describe Prendergast as “obsessive” and a “sex pest”.

The woman he dated said: “He was always drinking and became so paranoid whenever my phone would go off. He would claim it wasn’t really my dad texting me and that I had changed the name. Even when we were just seeing each other he told me I couldn’t date anyone else, and I told him a few times he needed to back off and stop being so controlling”.

She said Prendergast would “punch walls” in front of her when he became angry and openly admitted the steroids he was taking in order to gain muscle would cause anger problems and sometimes “even make him black out”.

Callum Lewis – Burton Pidsea

Sick predator preyed on 11 teenage girls during campaign of abuse

A twisted predator who preyed on 11 teenage girls across East Yorkshire during a campaign of abuse left them feeling worthless, ashamed and suicidal.

Callum Lewis, 21, of Gemel Road, Burton Pidsea, committed the offences over two and a half years between the ages of 16 and 18, starting in summer 2016 and was convicted of his crimes by a jury this year.

Depraved Lewis was charged with 15 child sex offences, including eight counts of causing a person under 18 to engage in sexual activity, two counts of sexual assault, three counts of possession of an indecent image and two of taking indecent images.

Hull Crown Court heard Lewis contacted his victims on social media sites, manipulating them into feeling sorry for him and forcing them into receiving obscene images or sending indecent images.

In some cases, he would persuade them to meet up with him and he would then sexually abuse them.

The worst of Lewis’ offending was when he took the virginity of a 14-year-old girl in the back of his car in a Withernsea lay-by when he was 18.

His victims were spread across the whole of the East Riding and Hull, which showed a willingness for him to travel around the region, taking them in his car to spots they would be isolated and unable to get away from him.

One of his victims was as young as 13 and he asked her to send explicit images to him and he sent pictures of his erect penis and of him masturbating to other girls aged up to 15, some of who sent explicit pictures back to him after he demanded them.

The court heard that Lewis also got a 15-year-old to masturbate him in his car in a secluded spot and also took photos and videos of young girls under 18 performing oral sex on him and having sex with him without their knowledge.

Statements were read in court which were made by the victims, in which many of them expressed their feelings of hurt and shame at Lewis’ actions, with one girl even becoming suicidal about what happened to her.

After a jury found Lewis guilty, Judge Mark Bury sentenced him to six years in a young offender’s institute.

Judge Bury commended the victims for their bravery in coming forward and admonished Lewis for his heinous crimes.

“All of the victims have made victim personal statements,” said Judge Bury.

“At the time of this offending they were young and impressionable teenage girls, some ages as young as 13.

“They have now grown up somewhat since your offending against them.

“They can now see your behaviour for what in fact it was – humiliating, exploitative and demeaning, carried out for your own sexual gratification, with no regard to the feeling of the girls concerned.

“When you had got what you had wanted, or couldn’t get what you wanted, you ditched them.

“It is clear that they have all been badly affected by their experiences and the harm that you have caused must be reflected in the sentences I am going to pass.”
