High risk pervert tracked down to streets of Dublin
This is the former high-powered US lawyer who is living in a downmarket hostel since he was released from prison after serving a sentence for possessing child sexual abuse images.
The 65-year-old refused to talk to the Sunday World when he was approached in Dublin city centre earlier this week, saying: “I don’t want to be news.”
Gerard Gilligan was once a top lawyer in the States, but now he dosses down for the night in a north inner-city hostel and spends his days on the streets.
In 2015, he was sentenced to two years and nine months for possession of images of child abuse in Sligo.
Gilligan, was charged in relation to 646 printed pages with numerous graphic images of children under 12 and including babies.
Gilligan had four previous convictions of a sexual nature in the US including aggravated sexual assault for which he served three years in jail.
A Probation Report puts Gilligan at “high risk” of re-offending.
