Raymond Clamp admits possessing indecent images of children
A Selby man has pleaded guilty to possessing hundreds of indecent images of children, adults and animals.
Raymond Anthony Clamp, of Baffam Lane, Selby, appeared before Selby Magistrates’ Court yesterday, to face 20 charges of possession of indecent images, with six in the highest two categories of the indecency scale.
Sandra White, prosecuting, told the court that North Yorkshire Police had executed a search warrant at Clamp’s home on July 31, after receiving intelligence that suggested indecent images of children had been downloaded to computers at the property.
Officers seized computer equipment which was taken for analysis, and on one computer police experts found 1,346 indecent images of the lowest level, five Level Two images, ten Level Three images, and six Level Four.
A second computer contained 14 Level One images, two Level Two images, eight Level Three images, four Level Four images, and two Level Five images, the most serious level.
Some of the pictures featured girls aged under four years old and up to the age of about 12, some with men. The computers also contained 369 “extreme pornographic images” and five video files which portrayed a person performing sexual acts with a live animal, and an indecent image of cartoon characters Bart and Lisa Simpson.
Clamp, 56, spoke only to confirm his name, address and to enter his guilty plea. He will be sentenced at York Crown Court later this month.
He was released on unconditional bail and was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register.
